Me: A little. If I ever did, I'd adopt.
Lyndsee: Really? Does childbirth scare you?
Me: A little. That and the fact that there are already kids on the earth who don't have loving homes...I'd feel selfish trying to bring a child into the world if I could give an adopted child a good home.
Lyndsee: Huh. I like that. Very altruistic of you. I don't think I would have kids.
Me: Aww, why not? You'd be a great mother. You have that nurturing soul.
Lyndsee: Eh. I guess just thinking about the difficulty of finding someone who would want to be with me.
Me: Don't say that. There is someone out there for you. It may take a bit to find them, especially to find someone worthy of your friendship and intimacy, but you will. And when you do, you and your partner will be a better parent than most heteros and cisgenders.

Me: Think about it. How many kids are born on accident, from broken condoms and birth control slip ups? When a gay, lesbian, or transgender couple become parents, they always do it by choice, never as the last resort.
